The Direct Medical Alert Alarm is a great piece of Telehealth equipment for your home.

It has been designed so that you can call for help in an emergency, even if you can't reach for your cellphone or home telephone. It's also there to prevent you from having to move into a care or retirement home. Instead, you can remain living comfortably in the familiar surroundings of home!

The alarm will come in two separate parts; the hub unit and the medical alert bracelet/necklace. The latter can be worn around the neck or wrist, it's down to your preference! The hub connects to your telephone system and allows you to speak with our Care Team.

Anybody will be able to apply for the Medical Alert System, however the service will be particularly useful for senior citizens, disabled residents and anybody who lives alone. It's will also be extremely useful for those who suffer from a long-term disease or condition.

The Care Team work at our monitoring centre and are on-hand to answer your alert calls.

Once you push the help button on your Medical Alert Alarm, they will be notified instantly. A team member will then respond via the hub's loudspeaker to speak with you about your situation. Once assessed, the Care Team will contact your emergency contacts and the emergency services if you're in need to medical assistance.

The Care Team will have your medical records at the ready so that the ambulance are in the best position to help.

The emergency contacts are chosen by the Medical Alert Alarm user during the installation process. It's these people who will be contacted by the Care Team in an emergency, so they need to be chosen carefully.

Commonly, family members, friends and neighbors will be chosen to act as emergency contacts. We would advise choosing people who live within the same city/town, or even better, your neighborhood. The closer they live, the sooner they can come to your aid.
